ANOTHER AWARD FOR BIG APPLE SOCCER
INDIANAPOLIS---Big Apple Soccer.com Editor Michael Lewis has won the National Soccer Coaches Association writing contest award for best Deadlline/Game Story.
Lewis won the award for his trilogy on the sale of the MetroStars to Red Bull and the subsequent renaming of the club to Red Bulls New York.
Details of the sale were broken by Lewis on Big Apple Soccer.com, in the first of the three articles.
Lewis, also captured an award for best feature, for a piece written for FIFA Magazine.
It was the second consecutive year that Lewis and Big Apple Soccer were honored by the NSCAA. Last year, Lewis’ column about the firing of Bob Bradley by the MetroStars captured the award for best column.
This marked the sixth time in the 12-year history of the writing contest in which Lewis was honored by the NSCAA.
